The live axle is the one in which the axle transmits power coming from the engine to the driving wheels so that the vehicle can run on the road.
Most of the cases the rear axles are the live axles and they run the vehicle, but in some cases, the front axle becomes also a live axle and transmits power to wheels. The live axle consists of various remarkable bearing and seal structures that make each style of hub testing to index. |

DEAD AXLE
The dead axle is a rigid structure which is not capable of transmitting any power coming from the engine to the driving wheels. Most of the time the front axle becomes a dead axle and it remains rigid in its place. And in some cases the front axle also a live axle. The dead axle is of various shapes, according to the vehicle's load and physical configuration. |

ATV axle Hub Bore contains a 1inch. shaft bore (1/4inch. keyway) right down to 3/4inch. Hub length is one 1/2inch. Mount to a 4-bolt circle ATV wheel, our Item# 1354. Keyway (in.): 1/4, Outside Diameter (inch.): 4 7/8, Application: Hub.- Bolt Circle: 4inch.
